East Dunbartonshire Council is developing proposals to create a "climate ready park" in Bishopbriggs.
Possible improvements to Etive Park and Woodhill Park include surface water management, to reduce the risk of local flooding, habitat improvements for wildlife, play park upgrades and allotment space for food growing.
The surface water management proposals include swales, wetland and basin features to attenuate rainfall during storm events, and will help to reduce the risk of flash flooding during extreme rainfall, similar to the storm that hit the area in June 2018.
