Scottish Flood Forum and FloodMobile Event Held in Milngavie

Scottish Flood Forum and FloodMobile Event Held in Milngavie

On 28 October 2021, the Scottish Flood Forum (www.scottishfloodforum.org/) hosted FloodRe (www.floodre.co.uk/) and the Ox-Cam Pathfinder project (www.floodtoolkit.com/ox-cam/) 'FloodMobile' unit at a community engagement event at Milngavie Shopping Centre, facilitated by East Dunbartonshire Council, as part of a wider tour around the UK in the run up to COP26 (www.floodre.co.uk/cop26-hub/)

The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of flood risk, and what people can do to protect themselves and their property from flooding, with a focus on property flood resilience (PFR) measures - the FloodMobile showcases around 50 PFR measures which are installed into the mobile facility.

The event was well attended, with members of the public, members of flood groups and community councils and two primary school classes from Milngavie Primary School visiting.

Watch out for the FloodMobile undertaking a longer tour across Scotland in early 2022.
