Multi-million Pound Investment to Improve the Environment at the River Kelvin

Investment at 11 different locations to transform the sewer network and improve the environment at the River Kelvin started in February 2019 and will continue through to summer 2020.

The project, being delivered by Scottish Water, includes the installation of mechanical screens on combined sewer overflows, to prevent objects greater than 6mm (i.e. prevent rags, baby wipes, large plastic cotton buds, etc) overflowing into the Kelvin during storm events.
