SEPA River Basin Planning Consultation - Significant Water Management Issues for Scotland

SEPA River Basin Planning Consultation - Significant Water Management Issues for Scotland

Running from 19th December 2019 through to 19th June 2020, this consultation, being led by SEPA, recognises that the climate is changing and we are facing a climate emergency. Protecting and restoring our water environment to build resilience from the effects of the changing climate is essential to allow Scotland to prosper.

River Basin Planning, and the legislation which underpins it, is the main way that this work will be delivered in Scotland. The Significant Water Management Issues report is an important part of this process, as it proposes the main issues which need to be tackled in the third River Basin Plan, between 2021 and 2027. This will bring wider benefits, reducing waste and pollution by improving resource efficiency and increasing resilience to climate change.
